A last minute mad dash!

For those of you who don't know, New Zealand was in a long lockdown for the last half of 2021. This meant that lots of shoots that I had planned were put on the back burner, specifically mini sessions. We got notification in early December that we could open for business again (yay!)

But I had made the mental decision to not return until the new year. I did however get into the studio and set up some of my awesome props, wardrobe outfits and little bits and pieces that I had gone overboard buying during the lockdown (oops haha). I had a little set up in mind for my own photo session for my children and newly arrived granddaughter.

I put up the wall and bed and all my lights and fell in LOVE with the set up!

So I decided to put the feelers out for some last minute Christmas Minis. And WOW, the response was amazing! I had two fully booked days just from an Instagram story so I decided to go ahead!

Now us photographers usually do our Christmas minis in October at the latest. This allows for plenty of time to edit and get galleries out for Christmas presents as well as avoiding our own general Christmas rush. But it was too late for all that planning, we hit the ground running, and on the 18, 19th AND 20th of December I had some long but WONDERFUL days with my families coming into the studio and getting some absolutely gorgeous photos. Everyone was so enthusiastic and excited to get back out into life and it really pulled me out of my lockdown funk.

Thank you to all my loyal clients coming back year after year and all your kind words. It was well worth the week worth of 3am finishes!
